American Baptist and
United Methodist
Hello everybody, my name is DJ Tuttle.
Some of you may not recognize me, because, I don't really go to this church. However, I have been attending your youth group, Agape, for the past four years. When I first heard about this "Agape" in middle school from Kylie, Kyli and Dennis, I had this crazy imaginative thought of what it was like, I was proven wrong when I was finally convinced to experience Agape.
The big deal every year in Agape has to be Youth Sunday, from the skits, the songs, testimonials, to even the entrance and exit. I had always wondered what you guys could get out of our skits or testimonials, what do the all of you have to learn from a group of high schools? Then I really got thinking, yes we always get great compliments about how inspirational everything was. But what did I get out of Youth Sunday?
A few years back we did a skit with a football team that wasn't playing well until their coach who ended up to be Jesus brought them in for a "Holy Huddle." During the service someone made an analogy that Agape every Sunday night was our "Holy Huddle."
I am going to take it one step further and say the time right before we leave Agape is my Holy Huddle. This is when we dim the lights; all join hands and pray for anything that is in our hearts and on our minds. I am a very vocal person, but I never feel comfortable to share Debbie-Downer type of information outside of this time. This time is a great time to reflect on the week, and think about the upcoming week. A time to listen and pray with others.
I will really miss this time in Agape.
Thank you everyone, for being so friendly.
