The Board of Deacons, under the advisement of the Mission Committee, has once again designated this year's Christmas Offering to be given to the Fairport Baptist Homes.
This marvelous ministry, designed to care for those among us who find it difficult or impossible to care for themselves, is characterized by Christian hospitality. The unique design of the nursing facility, the caring and committed staff, the model of care provided, is in many ways, "outside the box," of what we are all used to when it comes to nursing homes.
Innovation has been the driving force at the FBH, and for that reason, funding has been difficult. Much of the funds necessary to maintain a facility like this are not always available at the rate required because of the "innovative" methods of care that don't always fit comfortably into bureaucratic categories. So, FBH depends on individuals and religious institutions such as ours to help keep this important ministry alive.
