NEWS UPDATE – MAY 23, 2008

· VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA will be picking up the last of our clothing collection on Tuesday morning, June 3rd. There is still time to clean out your closets and bring your clothing to church! Place your contributions under the coat rack in Howard Hall.

· A NOTE TO THE ROCK AND SENIOR CHOIRS: The end-of-year picnic will be held here at UCP on Wednesday, June 4th, starting at 6:00 p.m. Please let Whitney or Norma know if you will be able to attend and what you will be bringing. whitney.cairns [at] rcsdk12 [dot] org or normamcnabb [at] frontiernet [dot] net

. Sunday, June 8, is Senior Sermon Sunday. Also, members of the Discipleship Class will be serving Communion. Pastor Jim and Summer Interim Pastor, Rev. Barbara Wolin, will officiate at the service.

· THERE WILL BE A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING on Sunday, June 8th, immediately following the worship service.

· The “Dialogue” deadline for the July/August issue is Sunday, June 15th!

· Sunday, June 15th , is Father’s Day AND Flower Sunday! When you come to church that day, bring a flower for each person attending. Following the worship service, take a different flower home!

· Our June MONDAY EVENING FELLOWSHIP meeting will be held on June 16th at 6:00 p.m. Bring your own table service and a generous dish-to-share. Dessert and beverages will be provided. The program for the evening will be a musical event entitled “The Clarinet Connection”. This lively group consists of 9 clarinets from all over the city and ranges in pitches from bass to treble. They will present a fun repertoire that will last approximately one hour. JOIN US!!

. Pastor Jim will be on sabbatical during the months of June, July, and August. The first week in June, Pastor Jim will be at the Abby of the Genesee.
