We have a new Creative Time coordinator -- Kylie Peterson. What a great example of the dedication of our youth at UCP! Thank you, Kylie. And, thank you again to Martha Steele for all the work she has put into developing the curriculum over the past couple years.
As always, we have several opportunities for volunteers for our programs. Please contact Jen Lazenby or anyone on the Board of Christian Education if you have any interest in serving.
These two programs provide child care for young children during the worship service.
The Creative Time program is available for children age 4 through second grade during the second half of the worship service.
Sunday School is available after worship service, from 11:15 to 12:00, for children in grades pre-K through 8.
Each year, from September through May, the Board of Christian Education provides an Adult Education Class that meets in the Church Lounge during the second hour on Sunday mornings (11:20 to noon).
The curriculum consists of a number of mini-courses, each covering a different topic, with some led by the pastor, some by other members of the congregation, and some by outside guests. Occasionally, the pastor will lead a Sermon Talkback, providing participants with an opportunity to respond to and discuss the topic presented in the morning sermon.
Our church has been very proactive in creating a safe environment for our children. Our "Reducing the Risk" program has been in place for several years now, and has been used as a model by other churches that are starting to implement similar programs.
